Elon Musk polled his Twitter followers early Tuesday to see if Tesla Inc should accept dogecoin as payment.
Musk’s latest tweet comes just days after announcing that his commercial rocket company, SpaceX, will accept payment in the meme-inspired cryptocurrency.
“Do you want Tesla to accept Doge?” Musk asked his about 53.8 million followers on Twitter.
The once-obscure digital currency, which began as a social media joke, has become a speculator’s dream thanks to Musk’s tweets this year.
However, the cryptocurrency lost more than a third of its value on Sunday after he referred to it as a “hustle” while appearing as a guest host on Saturday Night Live.
