Tesla has set a delivery event for the Model S Plaid sedan on June 3 at its California facility, Musk said via Twitter. Plaid, according to Musk, will be the fastest automobile ever, capable of going from 0 to 60 miles per hour in two seconds. The Model S Plaid is a high-performance version of Tesla’s Model S five-door electric car, which was introduced in 2012.
In late January, Tesla unveiled the Plaid variation as well as an updated version of the regular Model S sedan. Musk said on the company’s first-quarter earnings conference in late April that deliveries of the new Model S, which features a revamped interior, new battery pack, new motor units, and new internal electronics, might start in May.
According to Tesla’s website, the Plaid can reach a high speed of 321 kilometers per hour and has a peak output of 1,020 horsepower. It has a 627-kilometers range. The Plaid would be powered by three separate motors, each having a carbon-sleeved rotor that kept peak power production even at the highest speeds. Tesla claims to have the lowest drag coefficient. The initial price would be ₱ 5,473,766
The Plaid is presently available for purchase with a ₱ 5,000 non-refundable purchase charge. The Plaid edition was supposed to arrive in August or September, according to the company. A Plaid+ version of the Model S is also in the pipeline, but it won’t be ready until the middle of 2022.
